Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing very well.
It’s Micha! Today, I’m writing to give you the latest news. On November 15th, we organized a comedy show at the Comedy Nest in Montreal: Comedy for cause
Last summer we welcomed a new member among us, Karl. He helps us with the search for funding. And, Karl was the one who had the idea of comedy show and we were all excited about it because it seemed simple to be organized. The Comedy Nest was responsible for finding and organizing the comedians, and the only thing we needed to do was to promote the event and sell the tickets, a task that was thought to be simple!!! after all, everyone likes to laugh…. But as you continue reading you will understand it was not so easy.
Via our social networks, we started promoting the event as of September 15 and despite our efforts until October 20, three weeks before the event, none of the tickets had been sold! like zero, nothing!!! I think you understand me now! In such a limited short time we had to think of a new strategy to promote the event.

The poster of the event
Aside from working for Une Chance de Vivre, we all work in a pediatric hospital in Montreal. So, I started having my colleagues at the hospital to pose for a picture with the poster of the event.
Then, we made small funny videos that I posted on our social networks to promote the event. Doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists, they all kindly helped us, even Maryam’s colleagues at the university lend themselves to the cause by taking a picture with the poster.
And you know what?! It turned out to be a worthwhile strategy!! Not only did it help us to have more visibility on social networks, it helped us to sell almost all our tickets!

A special thanks to a mom from our unit who came with lots of friends, Stephanie’s father who bought tickets for his whole family, and Heather, a nurse colleague who came with five of her friends.
At the event, Jade and other colleagues helped us with the distribution of tickets and taking photos, etc… The evening was held in a relaxed atmosphere, the room was full and all we could hear was the laughter. Thanks to all the comedian, especially Nick Griffin who made Stephanie cry with laughter.
Once again, to all of you who participated and showed up at the event, who supported our event, helped us backstage and on the site, all the comedians, and the organization Comedy Nest, without you our event wouldn’t have been a success. I wish I could have each of you listed individually, but please know that I know who you are! And thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
It was Micha with you today. Stay tuned, other articles and news will be posted. And, for more information do not hesitate to follow us on our social networks.
